Description:
On the occasion of the Annual Day Celebrations held on 18th and 19th November, Convent of Jesus and Mary had prize distribution ceremonies and the Principal, Sr. Janet presented the school report. This was followed by the English dance drama – Mercy Divine, to commemorate the Year of Mercy. This musical was the result of the whole hearted participation of all the teachers and almost 1300 students. A totally in house production it was a result of unstinted hard work and talent. The 17 exquisite dances were choreographed by the students, teachers and some talented ex students. The dance drama itself was scripted, directed and co-ordinated by our teachers, Ms. Jayashree Guha, ably assisted by Ms. Shalini Philip and Ms. Sunanda Bhaskar. Ms. Deepa Joshi composed three lyrical hindi poems in the script. The Chief Guest on the 18th of November was Brother E. L. Miranda, Principal of St. Columba’s School, Delhi. On the 19th of November, the Chief Guest was Ms. Lata Vaidyanathan, eminent educationist and former Principal of Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Delhi. Both in their speeches lauded the performances and were impressed by the scale of the shows.
