Library Rules for Students

The children of class VI will be issued a library card.

Ensure that the books are checked in at the time of issue and return.

Return the book on the due date.

A fine of Rs. 10 per week will be imposed after the due date.

The card is not transferable. Don’t scratch the barcode.

If the card is lost, a new card will be issued after a payment of Rs. 100/-

The card is valid till class XII.

Only notebooks, paper and a pencil or a pen may be brought inside the library along
with the library books due for return.

Students may borrow one book at a time on their library cards. Students of Classes
IX to XII may borrow two books at a time. Cards are not transferable. The library
card of a Student will be cancelled if she is found lending it.

Books are issued for a week at a time. They must be returned on the due date stamped
on the date sheet. Only books for which there is no immediate demand will be reissued.

Students are responsible for the books borrowed on their cards. Any damage to the
books should be pointed out the time of borrowing and the signature of the librarian
obtained. The loss of books or the discovery of any damage to them will have to
be compensated for by the students.

Books are issued and returned only during library periods. A fine of Rs. 10 per
week for students will be charged for overdue books. Students may go to the library
to return their books in the non-library period only if the librarian is free.

If a book is lost, it has to be replaced by a new one or its market price has to
be paid. There is a penalty for scribbling in a library book.

Students of Classes III to IX and XI should return their library cards at the end
of the academic year. Students of Class XII should return them before going on study
leave for the Board Examinations.

Students are welcome to use the library for reference work during school hours if
they come with written permission from the Principal / Supervisor / Subject Teacher
/ Class Teacher.

Library books, magazines and furniture are the property of the school and must not
be marked, damaged or taken out of the library without permission.
