ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 30TH NOVEMBER, 2017 AND 1ST DECEMBER, 2017
JM Odyssey – the Annual Drill Display was held in Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi on 30th November and 1st December, 2017. It was an extravaganza of pageantry and imagination, so said the Chief Guest on the 1st of December, 2017, Sir Dominic Asquith, the British High Commissioner. He also commented that Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi had succeeded in striking the 3 E s : energy, excitement and excellence. The Chief Guest for 30th November, 2017, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meena IPS, Commissioner Anti Corruption commented on the excellent discipline displayed and exhorted the students to take sports seriously.
JM Odyssey began with the unfurling of the school flag by the school Principal, Sr. Gracy Paul and a prayer dance. It was followed by a splendid march past by the senior students. In keeping with the theme of bicentenary celebrations of the Congregation of Jesus and Mary, the drills were evocative of the school’s roots. The colours blue and purple to commemorate the bi centenary and the Mother Foundress made the entire drill display very dramatic. All the classes took part in individual drills. Beautifully synchronised and choreographed, the drills imaginatively titled were fantastic and co ordinated. The Best House of the year award went to Endurance House. The best sportsperson trophy was awarded to Madiha M Qureshi. The event was a spectacular success, lauded by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, IPS and Sir Dominic Asquith and the audience.
